The opposition candidate for Himara, Petro Gjikuria, gave a statement to the media after the closing of the voting process.

Thanking all his supporters inside and outside the party and said that the Himariotes have already given their verdict.

Gjikuria predicts himself the winner of the elections in Himare.

According to him, the Himariotes have seen hope in his face, so he is confident that he has received their vote. Regarding the invitation of the rival, Vangjel Tavos to stay in Albania, Gjikuria said that "Tavo is welcome to work for him".

Petro Gjikuria: I want to tell you that I will be here, the counting of the boxes will begin, the Himariotes have their verdict, the Himariotes have spoken, now we are left to count the boxes and I think that no one will touch these boxes that are the ballot boxes which the Himariotes voted for their son the next day, who will be the mayor. I thank you all. I will be here tomorrow too, to work for the Himariotes, to work, to carry our program to the end.

- Will you accept the election results?

Petro Gjikuria : Now you should know one thing that here, in this campaign, almost the entire state administration came down, which with pressure and threats scared a part of the Himariots, but the Himariots are one of those who are not scared even by threats, they came, showed themselves and of them in the ballot boxes and the participation was a slightly higher percentage, almost 10%. This shows that the Himariotes do not bow their heads. The more pressure you put on them, the more they revolt. Whatever the outcome, what has been recorded will be seen, those violations that have been committed. It is also the job of the CEC to make decisions, it is not my job.

- Will you accept the invitation of Mr. Yours in case you are not declared a winner?

Petro Gjikuria: I will accept the verdict given by the Himariotes.

- Will you accept the result?

Petro Gjikuria: The result is the verdict, the verdict is what they voted for.

- Do you think there was manipulation?

Petro Gjikuria : We will learn about them in the coming days, but there have been a lot of threats and pressures, as you yourself have seen, the entire administration, ministers, deputies, have been here, I have seen them myself, they have seen them others too. They have their job, I have mine, I did a clean job, honestly. I worked only for the Himariots. My main goal is to work for the Himariotes, to give them a hope. Seeing the Himariotes who saw a hope in my face touched my soul, here people want something that they have been missing for 12 years. They saw it on my face and it gives me great joy.

- Will you accept the invitation of Mr. Tavo, will you stay in Albania?

Petro Gjikuria: I will be the winner and if Tavo wants to come and work for me, he is welcome. I am the winner of this race, I am the winner because the Himariotes trusted me, I am sure they trusted me with their vote.
