The chairman of the Union Party for Human Rights, Vangjel Dule, accused the candidate of the Socialist Party for the Municipality of Himara, Vangjel Tavo, of having added fictitious voters, while denying local residents the right to vote.
"Mr. Tavo, with voice and image, publicly claimed that he has transferred the civil status of some citizens who are not residents of Himara Municipality in order to protect his vote. What constitutional principles is this action based on? Who are the state authorities that have undertaken this action? There are a total of 311 voters who have been added to the lists of today's elections, compared to the lists of May 2023", said Dule from Himara.
He said that these violations were reported to SPAK, but there was no action from this institution.
"Also, the SP candidate affirmed with voice and figure that he has distributed over 1200 property titles and there are 600 of them to be distributed. What can a judicial body expect after such public assertions. In these elections, a full 6157 voters, out of 23074 voters, i.e. more than 25%, are deprived of their constitutional right to vote by not issuing the relevant decision by the government to vote with cards or passports that have passed their expiration date. Our figures show that there are over 600 citizens who appeared at the polling stations and were refused participation. These are a continuation of the 2023 elections and therefore, being the same mandate, no new decision was needed to give voters the opportunity to vote. With a simple calculation, with 311 voters imported to Himare by Mr. Tavo, plus over 600 voters who until now have been deprived of the right to vote, the SP candidate has entered this election process with plus 1000 votes compared to the candidate of opposition", he added.
