Benet Beci appeared a few days ago at the doors of SPAK, refusing to talk about the reason for the call.

On the same day, the Mayor of Shkodra mocked the news of the media that talked about his resignation, without actually clarifying the reason for his appearance in SPAK.

However, the media reported that Beci was summoned to SPAK to be questioned about the period when he ran the Albanian Electric Corporation (KESH).

SPAK is deeply investigating this period, including the seized phone of Evis Berber's wife (who is in prison for another case), during the time when she was working at KESH. It is not yet known precisely at what stage the investigation for the mayor of Shkodra is.

Benet Beci was elected mayor last year, in a process disputed by the opposition with accusations of vote buying and cooperation with gangs. Surprisingly, the official DP and other actors have been silent about the accusations recently raised by SPAK against Benet Beci.

Considering that Edi Rama is expected to lead the list of candidates in Shkodër, this silence is, at best, meaningless and, at worst, suspicious for the opposition.
