The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, reacted from prison regarding the 2025 Budget, which he described as the most anti-social.

Through a post on social networks, Meta writes that neither pensioners nor families in need are supported, but are further discriminated against with this budget. 

"The budget for 2025, the most anti-social, which increases poverty and corruption. No addition to the wage fund for new wage policies. Zero funds for wage indexation from price increases. Pensioners will be further discriminated against with this budget. The fund for new pension policies for 2025 is expected to be only 1.6 billion ALL or an increase of 0.9% of the total social security fund.

This means that pensions will not increase even by 1% when only the inflation rate predicted for 2025 is 3%. Not only zero growth, but also a decrease in social care funds, including for families on economic assistance living in extreme poverty. From ALL 26.1 billion in 2024 to ALL 23.7 billion in 2025.

Zero additional funds for the category of unemployed, while the number of unemployed increases. Zero funds for the needy. So all the economic growth that is the contribution of all citizens and taxpayers will go to corrupt public investments at a cost many times higher than the real one to increase corruption', he writes.
