The deputy of the Socialist Party, Erion Braçe , has requested that women and girls know the cycle period.
During the speech in the committee where the budget of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection was being discussed , Braçe said that they should receive a report and take paid vacations from the state budget.
"They are considering it a disease, it doesn't cost much to be included in the initiatives of the ministry", he said.
Brace also said that the sanitary napkins used by women and girls during the cycle should be exempted from value added tax.
"Is it possible for women and girls to recognize the cycle period as a sick and paid period. Report paid from the state budget because they are really considering it a disease up and down.
It does not cost much and should be calculated, included in the initiatives of the ministry. Second, is it possible to exclude women's and girls' menstrual hygiene from value added tax because it costs nothing to the state budget.
I am not asking the government to pay it, but the minimum to be exempt from value added tax. From so many women we have in the government, we will find the understanding of the finance minister to do this to help the women and girls in this country as much as possible", said Erion Braçe.
