The Supreme Court is considering the appeal for the former prime minister today

Today, the Supreme Court examines the recourse of the former prime minister, Sali Berisha, through which he requests the removal of the security measure of house arrest, where he has been since December 30.

At 1:30 p.m., a Criminal Panel with judge Sokol Binaj as relator will examine the appeal made by the former prime minister in the Counseling Chamber.

Through the lawyers, Berisha opposes the tightening of the security measure from mandatory appearance and ban on leaving the country to house arrest, left in force by the Special Court of First Instance and the Appeal of GJKKO.

Berisha is under investigation for the privatization of the former club Partizani, during the time when he was prime minister.

He is suspected of favoring his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi, also under house arrest, in the acquisition of land properties. Malltezi then built palace complexes on that land.
