The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, and the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu , held a ceremony at the Port of Durrës for the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Albanian Naval Forces, although the official date marking their establishment is December 25.

Although the celebration began 8 days ago, the president and the minister have published photos from today's ceremony, complete with congratulations.

The Minister was the first to express congratulations this morning, honoring all those who have served over the years in protecting the country's maritime borders.

"Good morning and happy 100 years of the Albanian Naval Force. Honor for a century of service and dedication in protecting the blue borders of the Homeland, human life and waving the proud Albanian flag in international waters!", Vengu writes in his message.

It is not known whether this premature congratulation is a gaffe by Begaj and Vengu, or simply a hasty enthusiasm, but for the sake of correctness, we are also bringing the official dates, as they are posted on the online website of the Armed Forces, where December 25 is designated as the official day of the creation of the Naval Forces./ vna
