The deputy of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, gave his last speech this Thursday afternoon, as he has to leave his mandate to run for mayor of Elbasan in the local elections on May 14.

Boçi considered running in Elbasan as a privilege and revealed his vision for the development of the city. He said that he is leaving the Assembly to return to where every little thing makes a big difference.

The deputy called on the majority to stop stealing the vote of the citizens of Elbasan.

Boçi : In these years, I have tried as much as I could, with all my commitment, to be the voice of the citizens of Elbasan, I have tried to be their friend, regardless of the political wing. I tried to be myself. It has been an honor for me to represent my city, my people. It was their faith that made my word carry weight. I am handing over this mandate today, on the condition that I get closer to my people, the citizens of Elbasan. I have judged politics as a means to solve economic problems and problems, health, art and culture, and to provide the necessary service to the citizens.

I have considered the Parliament as the place of the most beautiful battle that God has given us, the place of the battle of the word. The wise word, the word that hits, that argues, that stings. And not abusive, insulting and mocking words to the citizens. To be honest, I have not always got the right taste of the word. Here I am faced with colleagues. I liked this place for its dynamics and nerve. Here in this hall, I have seen truth and falsehood sitting together. The beauty of politics and its ugliness. Don't think I'm leaving because of that.

Otherwise from you, I have been given a privilege that some call a sacrifice. Privilege to be a candidate in the Municipality of Elbasan. I consider it as a golden opportunity to return the debt, merit and former glory to the environment it deserves.

I'm leaving to go back to where every little thing makes a big difference. Together with the people, we will make the change. We will return Elbasan where it deserves. We will make Elbasan a beloved place, a place where you can live, without thinking that you will leave. We will make it a beloved address for local and foreign tourists. We have everything, today we also have the will for change, we will make Elbasan. We will make an example to follow.
