The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Ermonela Felaj, has attacked the Freedom Party, saying that the same politicians are in this political force and why its name has been changed.
When asked about yesterday's protest for the incinerators, Felaj emphasized that some roles that belong to another power cannot be taken and exercised in the Albanian Parliament due to the fact that they are deputies, thus referring to the opposition.
"Changing the name does not arouse any kind of surname for me, they are irrelevant, they are the same politicians, the same politics, the same jargon. The issue on which the opposition had more opportunities to collect documentation, to talk for hours, was that of incinerators. On the other hand, we must understand that some roles that are separate and belong to another type of power, we cannot take and exercise in the Assembly of Albania, just because we are MPs. In the Assembly, no one can be either the prosecutor or the judge," said Felaj in an interview for Euronews Albania.
Meanwhile, regarding the issue of incinerators, Felaj emphasized that despite all the anathema that is done to the history of incinerators and the violations that have occurred, they were a forced solution.
"The waste cleaning scheme in Albania, the garbage collection fields, finished their function. This is fact. It was the duty of the bodies to offer a long-term strategy", said Felaj.
