Opposition leader Sali Berisha responded to Prime Minister Edi Rama's accusations about his age from 'Mother Teresa' Square in Tirana, telling him that all his years are biological years.
Berisha also said that Prime Minister Edi Rama looks exactly like Gramoz Ruçi's grandfather.
He also said that the Democratic Party, just as he said it overthrew the communist dictatorship and transformed Albania, will now work to build a Greater Albania.
"Edi Rama cries out to Sali Berisha for his troubles. Now I say to him here 'Edvin, Edvin, Sali Berisha's years are all bio years. The vetting you did with your lackeys showed that Sali Berisha appears today before the Albanians as the cleanest politician that Albania and beyond have known. Edvin, with that vetting for which you did not start with how you started it, I will say that you did me an honor, you showed the Albanians where the invincible strength of Sali Berisha lies.
Friends, in terms of age, I guarantee you that he resembles not Gramoz, but Gramoz Ruçi's grandfather. So, you don't know, that he steals all day, but the strength of a man is measured by the love and passion he has to help his society, his nation, his country. I did not return for power. I was in power and I left behind what you can never erase. I did not return for money, Albanians saw what Sali Berisha's vetting was.
"I have not returned for luxury, because at my age, when I have reached this stage of life, I want to dedicate this respect and love that I have for the country to the Albanian people. I want that together with them, just as they overthrew the dictatorship, we now build 'Great Albania'," Berisha said.
"These days, this month, two worlds collide, two philosophies collide, two projects, on one side are those who brought Albania to this day, on the other side are those who robbed Albania and Albanians like no other invasion in history. Albania is sick, this disease is called Edi Rama ," said Berisha at the launch of the electoral campaign for the May 11 elections of the Alliance for Greater Albania coalition.
Berisha said that Edi Rama has been "locked in his office for two months and talking to himself."
"Terrified by the truth, terrified by transparency, he has been locked in his office for two months and talking to himself, he has been afraid for two months, but friends, he tried in every way, with everything, with arrests, with corruption, with division, with everything, so that Albania would not have an opposition, but here we are today, stronger than ever. Edi Rama continues the old avas, he continues the deceptions, but for 12 years he has not been able to show the Albanians a single deed because he has only stolen. His fight in the Democratic Party is Don Quixote's fight with windmills. Whatever he says, this party of political pluralism. This is the party that overthrew the communist dictatorship. This party has made Albania a member of the Council of Europe, of NATO, it is the party that brought it out ," said Berisha.
