Rama's surprising statement: Albania will be led by a female prime minister

Prime Minister Edi Rama made a surprising statement this Friday at the official opening of the electoral campaign for the May 11 elections, saying that in 2030, Albania will have a female prime minister.

"We have opened the path to build two or three very strategic alliances that will transform, remember this word today and in 2030 with God's help we will see each other again, because we will come to support a female prime minister. In 2030 Albania will be led by a woman," said Edi Rama.

Rama further said that the Socialist Party's list of candidates has represented Albanian women and girls in the most dignified way.

Rama said that 52% of the candidates on the closed SP lists are girls and women.

He also said that many women and girls from the Democratic Party have joined the SP in this electoral campaign.

"Today you have 71 representatives in our May 11 team. And you have 1/3 of the political leaders of the Socialist Party. But the most beautiful figure is the full 52% on the closed list, which is yours, not the men and boys'."

I have always believed that the absurd gap of fandom, the absurdity between the political struggle here in Albania, inherited from the past, can only be narrowed by women and girls.

"Zamira's courage, on the Vlora list, to join us, coming from the other camp, I am convinced that it is not a coincidence and an isolated case of an electoral moment, while women and girls from the other camp have approached or joined our structures," said Rama.
