Prime Minister Edi Rama, during a meeting with socialist candidates for the elections, admitted that the government led by him has lost another trial against another party seeking compensation.
The Prime Minister further brought up the case of a trial in the Court of Appeal today where the Albanian state lost 500 thousand euros for an accident that occurred 8 years ago, but which had no victims.
Meanwhile, Rama also added that on the other hand, there are countless Albanians who have been waiting for justice in the Appeal Court for years.
"We do not provide justice for many Albanians. We cannot correct the mistakes of justice. Today we lost a trial in the Appeals Court, where the state is being asked to pay 500 thousand euros for a car crash 8 years ago on a road where there were no deaths or injuries and where the driver and co-driver had the vision to sue the state as a result of the car crash and the danger to their lives. There are countless Albanians who have been waiting for the Appeal for years.
"There are flagrant cases where we have been waiting for the appeal for years. This decision was made with lightning speed. The state was hit with 500 thousand euros. We cannot even correct the mistakes and atrocities in the courtrooms for the state. But we have two things in our hands for the fate of justice for Albania 2030. To lead by example. To be an invincible shield for the independence of justice institutions, starting with SPAK, which we will support without any equivocation," said Rama.
