Prime Minister Edi Rama today gathered the Socialist MPs from the open and closed lists of the May 11 elections in a meeting at the Brigades Palace in Tirana.
In his speech, Rama did not leave out the irony of the opposition and the Democratic Party, comparing it to a blind chicken that is in the arms of a tyrannical old man (Berisha).
Rama further said that the SP received its votes, while the DP lacks 200,000 votes.
The Prime Minister added that now is no longer the time to deal with them like during the campaign, but to look at the affairs of the fourth mandate.
Rama : This will not change but will worsen until the mindset of being the opposition and of being news and debated in the media changes. As long as the opposition is caught like a blind chicken in the arms of a tyrannical old man, this country will not have a challenging opposition for us. But only a disappointing swamp and for its followers who many stayed home on May 11.
We have received our votes, while the 200 thousand that are missing are those who stayed at home or chose to console themselves in other ways. If it were Luli, they would have been short-changed, they would have said they were dead. These others are taking longer, they say we bought them. The math doesn't work out again.
This degradation of what was born as a party of Albanian youth that today has become the uturak of an 80-year-old without hope, non grata. It is not our choice, nor our problem. We had to deal with that magnificent uturak in recent months that I made only out of frustration. But now we leave them in the mud where they have been floundering for 12 years where they will continue to go lower and lower. We should not waste energy and time with them.
