'Raising his hand up', socialists approve "online" fiscal

As opposition MPs clambered over gate bars and window ledges after the guards closed the door, it took the Socialists in the Economy  and Finance Committee just one hour to approve all the fiscal changes for next year. Online gathering provided this convenience for the majority. 

"I want to make sure that the draft law includes the exemption from VAT of pregnant heifers that come to the territory of the Republic of Albania and that are born here, near the livestock farmers," said Socialist MP Erion Braçe.

Braçe received the guarantee that not only heifers will be exempt from the value added tax, but also other livestock categories from the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy, Vasilika Vjero .

"We are in the process of talks with the Ministry of Agriculture to approve a final list that includes pigs or other categories."

Among the fiscal changes approved by the majority deputies was the increase in the carbon tax, which will increase from 3 Lek per kilogram to 15.3 Lek by 2030.
