Socialist Party MP Iris Luarasi has revealed part of the Prime Minister's discussion with the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, on the day when Edi Rama also debated with Elisa Spiropali.
Invited tonight on Top Story, Luarasi said that Edi Rama had said that every morning he said: "Thank God that the PS exists," adding that Spiropali should first discuss the concerns within the 'family', then make public statuses on Facebook.
The SP MP emphasized that Spiropali should have made the criticisms when he was in power, because that makes your criticism more credible. When you lose power, it becomes more unbelievable, according to Luarasi.
Luarasi: I think there is another challenge in the SP, which is integration. Spiropali was the Foreign Minister. A good part of the work when it comes to integration is also done by the Foreign Minister. All politics is propaganda, but in this case I believe it is a window of opportunity at home. All homework must be done. I think the best option would be to ask Spiropali himself why he did this. For me it is still unclear. I am a partisan of the thing that before we take things public, we discuss them within the house.
But you're not letting him talk.
Luarasi : She is a personality of the Socialist Party. She has held one of the most important positions as Speaker of the Parliament. For her criticisms to be totally based on facts and rights, they should have been made when you were in power, because this makes your criticism more credible. When you lose power, it becomes more unbelievable.
In his discussion, Rama said that in the morning when I get up I say: "Thank you God that the PS exists, and when I close my eyes I say "thank you again, because here all the SP deputies would not exist if the PS did not exist and here he said you all and myself". We are not talking about prominent personalities who become themselves, there are also those who become due to the investment of the party or the party chairman. I think that Spiropali has fought strong political battles for the SP, but on the other hand if I were to run, it is one thing to collect political votes in Albania, and another thing to make people love you.
You understand that you need to have strong political support, because without those structures, no matter how charismatic you are, votes are not so easy to get. Spiropali is an investment, there are other smart women in the SP, but they have not had the opportunity like Spiropali. In a political race, when we are 2 equal and the president chooses one of the two, this remains to be discussed, it is a subjective choice. These problems have not been discussed within the SP. I think that what every person who is in a political party should do is that the discussion at the beginning, before doing it on the Facebook page, should be done within the political group.
