The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, convened the parliamentary group today.
According to him, Prime Minister Edi Rama is trying to create a connection between his positions on prosecutors and those of the Democratic Party.
Berisha took the opportunity to say that his party will never join votes with Edi Rama for any kind of measure against the justice system.
" Rama is trying with his propaganda to create an analogy between his thug-like stances towards prosecutors and our stances. It is different. I want to make it clear to Albanians that this party will never unite votes with Edi Rama for any kind of measure towards the justice system. This party has a clear platform ," said Berisha.
According to the leader of the Democrat Party, the DP has stated that there should be no political parties. He emphasized that any change will only be made through reform.
"He has expressed his positions in the deepest conviction that Albania cannot and should not have a political prosecutor, but this will never be done in any other way than through the Venice Commission, reform. This will be done through reform and in no case by transforming the parliamentary group into prosecutors, nor into lawyers, and even less so by the party that claims to fight with zero tolerance against corruption joining with anyone in defense of corruption ," said Berisha.
The leader of the Democrat Party responded to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements. A day earlier, during a meeting with citizens, Rama said that Berisha would come with a whistle if the head of government was also interested in dissolving SPAK.
"The swamp is sworn to dissolve SPAK. If I were interested in this, it would be much simpler. Do you know how that owl came, with a whistle," said Rama.
