Democratic Leader Sali Berisha responded to Prime Minister Edi Rama, stating that not the opposition, but the representatives of the 27 member states saw the Albanian reality and realized that it is not what the Prime Minister presents.
According to the Democratic leader, the IBAR report was not written by the Democratic Party, but by the Council of Europe's technical group, COELA.
"I am once again very grateful to the member states of the European Union, which in fact rewrote or amended that report with all the major problems that Albania faces today, presenting in this way the Albanian reality not as it deceives, as Edi Rama invents and as his corrupt lobbyists present it, but as it really is. And I inform you that COELA, the working group that approved Ibar, came to Albania with 27 representatives of the 27 member states, ascertained things on the spot. It was convinced that the elections here are a real farce, it was convinced that justice is under great pressure and control and that Edi Rama protects corruption and does not allow justice to punish in violation of the constitution. It was convinced that the parliament does not have the role it should have in the integration process. It was convinced that the economy is a clientelistic economy and not a free market economy as Edi Rama had presented. So, I can say that after this report, the Albanian reality in Brussels is completely different from the one that Edi Rama deceives and this is "a great achievement for every Albanian. Of course, also for the Albanian opposition, since its positions fully comply with the positions of the most serious institutions of the European Union ," said Berisha.
Sali Berisha commented on the reconfirmation through the referendum to maintain the leadership of the Democratic Party through a post on social networks as a victory over Edi Rama and the Socialists, whom he accuses of not holding elections, unlike his political force.
"There are two major parties in Albania. The Democratic Party elects its leaders based on direct democracy and votes on the principle of 'one member, one vote' in every electoral process. Meanwhile, the Socialist Party, or the party of crime, has replaced the vote of its members with the appointment and power of crime. This party has never voted for the president or any of its other forums for 17 years. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party elects the president and local leaders and candidates for MPs every four years based on direct democracy (referendum)!"
Berisha took the time to explain to his accusers, who according to him are sponsored by Edi Rama, that he did not privatize the Democratic Party.
"Putting aside modesty, Edi Rama, the government drug mafia and the media mafia he controls, demonstrated their fear and horror of Sali Berisha. For these shameless people, the referendum vote of the entire membership for the leader of the opposition party is 'privatization of the party by the leader' or in this specific case 'Berisha elects Berisha'. That's why for Edi Rama and all this horde of swindlers and mafiosi who gloat and wallow in the luxury and money they steal from Albanians, the vote of about 40 thousand democrats yesterday was a real horror and hell; it was a failure and public shame (but they have no shame). While for Albanians, it was the vote of the triumph of their dignity over the most dangerous mafia in Europe".
