The President of the Republic Ilir Meta has congratulated his deputy head of state Bajram Begaj, who was elected today by a majority vote as the 8th President of the Republic of Albania.
In a post on social networks, Meta writes briefly: "Congratulations to the President elected today by the Albanian Parliament, Mr. Bajram Begaj!".
This wish comes at a time when Sali Berisha accused Meta of violating the Constitution in connection with the decree signed in Istanbul by the head of state, regarding the dismissal of Bajram Begaj from the post of Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces and from the rank of Major General.
We recall that Bajram Begaj was elected President of Albania with 78 votes in favor, 4 against and 1 abstention.
