"We have given Albania a normal president" This is what Prime Minister Edi Rama said after the vote of Bajram Begaj as the 8th president of the Republic of Albania, adding further that he achieved the objective.
Begaj also received an opposition vote, but the Prime Minister did not comment on the votes, but said that it is important that this process is crowned with a proof that the SP is here for Albania and not for itself.
"I believe that we have achieved the objective we had at the beginning of the year and all reactions speak for this, of course excluding any unrelated reaction of the political space, I speak beyond it, which means that we have given Albania a normal president, a figure indisputable in terms of the integrity of humanism and definitely also the commitment to the country and the people.
Did you get 1 vote from the opposition?
It does not matter what the arithmetic conclusion was, it matters that this process is crowned with a tangible proof for all that the SP is here to do the best that our elections, decisions, our activity as the governing majority go in the interest of the country and of all Albanians, not just one party.
Are you happy?
Happiness is a very big word, but what I can say with full mouth is that a not at all easy process, with a salad of parties on the other side of the hemisphere of the parliament, we have managed to give life to a process in which have all had the opportunity to contribute and an unidentifiable figure has emerged simply with us who have proposed but identifiable with the Albanian citizen, dignified and respectful, with the man loyal to the country and duty, with the example of a quiet man, reasonable, normal ", said Rama.
