From the Assembly, Minister for Parliamentary Relations Taulant Balla leveled accusations against Sali Berisha as he recalled his statements against Ilir Meta and now nominated him as a candidate in the May 11 elections.

Balla mentioned that Berisha accused Meta of murder and gold theft, while now, to secure a place on the list, he had to remove Dash Sula.

On the other hand 

Balla: Since 1997, you have been a man who has been blamed for all the greatest evils committed against this country. You collaborated with Milosevic to supply his military machinery against Kosovo with oil.

Minister of State, Taulant Balla, in response to the opposition's accusations of electoral manipulation, in a direct reply in Parliament, said that there is no surprise in the opposition's positions, which according to him have been repeated for years, without any concrete facts.

"I have no surprises. Neither I, nor my colleagues, nor the journalists up there, nor the public following this session. Because all we hear is a repetition of many years. Before the elections, we told you that you would come back with the same refrain: 'The will of the Albanians was stolen, it was manipulated,'" declared Balla.

The Minister emphasized that expenses are still being incurred from the state budget for recounts.

"Even though it is a month and a half since the elections, due to the agreement we have had together since 2012, a recount may take place. Money is being spent from the state budget, so far 200 million lek and some. Let's hope as a good omen that in September we will clearly define the addressing of perhaps one of the most important recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR report - to depoliticize the commissioners."

Commenting on the opposition's repeated stances on "vote theft", Balla asked the question:

"How is it possible that the same thing always happens? In 2017, and in 2021, Luli came out. In 2025, we are now realizing that Luli did not have it all by himself..."

The Minister also brought to attention his personal experience with political violence in the past:

"I was at the SP headquarters in Librazhd when they beat up the leader of the SP. This is how the opposition was treated."

Balla further accused Sali Berisha of dark stories since the 1990s, also mentioning his relationship with Milosevic:

"Since 1997, you are a man who has been accused of all the greatest evils against this country. From collaborating with Slobodan Milosevic to supplying oil to his military machinery... I quote Thaçi who said: the Berisha-Milošević agreement brought Arkan to Albania. Or even the accusations of the murder of Ilir Konushevci, a KLA soldier. There are witnesses, two pilots who say that you were given the order to bomb the south."

He recalled Berisha's offensive statements towards various figures over the years:

"Do you remember what you said to Ilir Meta here? Raise your head, raise it. Remove Dash Sula, put Ilir Meta in. You ran against justice. Do you remember what you said to Maks Haxhië, Arben Rakipi, Sollaku, Olsi Çela, Altin Dumani?"

He further addressed the opposition with a call to file official reports if they have evidence:

"You've been holding press conferences for a few days. Take them and take them to the prosecutor's office. How is it possible that the elections are over and you haven't filed a report? Because you know very well that there's nothing that stands up."

In the end, he ironized the statements about the diaspora vote and baseless accusations:

"The icing on the cake was the diaspora vote. 'They put GPS on the ballot' - said one here (Noka)."

Concluding his reply, Balla said:

"You are a great blessing for us. But for Albania, you are a black blessing."

Berisha: Of course, it is not worth responding to a slandered and disgusting representative of crime in parliament, but the obligation towards citizens forces me to recall here that the person who spoke here is a person accused of trafficking of all kinds, starting with prostitution trafficking and ending with drugs.
He is a person accused with official documents in the courtroom of having ordered murder.
He is a person who, in the criminal justice segments, have burned with a decision the records that proved the person as a person who ordered murders.

It is proven, he is the man who ordered the Elbasan gang to imprison an entire family, opponents of the Elbasan gang and is later taken under the protection of Nuredin Dumani.
