After the meeting of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, the chairman of the group, Gazment Bardhi, has emphasized that the political action of the DP will be focused on guaranteeing free and fair elections.

Bardhi has criticized the development of electoral processes in recent years, stating that a decent electoral process has never been allowed and that there has been no meaningful electoral reform.

He mentioned the new electoral code of 2008, adopted after the demands of the opposition at that time, and the "meaningful" improvements that were made in 2012.

According to Bardhi, Prime Minister Edi Rama has made efforts to escalate the free and fair elections by blocking the necessary changes and electoral reforms. Bardhi has underlined that in order to achieve a lasting solution to the electoral problems, it is necessary to guarantee free and fair elections.

"Political and parliamentary action, there is no solution without free and fair elections. Our group does not take the decisions for the protest, the complete agenda of the DP is also discussed by us, but there are other party institutions. The group has set this motto, not there is no solution without free and fair elections", said Bardhi.

He emphasized that PD will continue to commit to ensure that the electoral process meets the standards required for transparency and honesty, focusing political action in this direction.
