The arrest of the expectant mother in Shkodër has sparked a debate between the majority and opposition MPs in the Assembly. The deputy of the Democratic Party, Dhurata Çupi, said that a debate with the Minister of Justice was definitely needed on this issue.
" It is a serious, painful, heavy, depressing event. We should have a debate session here about the incident of the pregnant woman in Shkodër who was arrested. We must have a discussion with the Minister of Justice. There should be no other session besides this. Justice is unfair to common people. A few days ago, I didn't leave the department without wishing March 8 for likes and today there is no reaction. This is how the plenary session should start today. "- said Chupi.
As for the deputy of the SP, Klotilda Bushka, she said that there is no need for a debate, while she said that measures are being taken.
" It is clearly provided that a pregnant mother could not be kept with a child in prison. There is no need for debate as to where the case has limped to the justice bodies. However, we agree with you, these events cannot happen. We have gathered, we have discussed and as we have always done, we will do our job so that such cases do not recur. Having said that, it is not the first time that we will have to act and be careful. March started with the killing of women, it came bloody. And we will continue to take appropriate measures on what we can do better. I call on the justice bodies to speed up the resolution of the case in question." - says Bushka..
