The US Embassy in Tirana reacted after the decision of the Court of Appeal , which gave the seal of the Democratic Party to Sali Berisha.

In a statement to the media, the American Foundation states that their position with the individuals declared non grata has not changed and that they do not engage with these persons.

"Our position regarding individuals designated as non-grata remains unchanged: we do not engage with individuals designated under US sanctions authority, and everyone should carefully consider how they work with individuals designated by the US," the Embassy stated. .

We recall that on June 11, 2024, the Court of Appeal decided to give former Prime Minister Sali Berisha the seal and logo of the Democratic Party.

The panel composed of judges Alma Ahmeti, Elona Toro and Iliba Bezati, after hearing the claims of the parties, decided not to accept the appeal signed by MP Enkelejd Alibeaj, leaving in force a decision of judge Agron Zhukri of the first instance.
