Associations and personalities for Disaspora have sent a letter to the Speaker of the Parliament, Lindita Nikolla, where they have requested that urgent action be taken to enable the voting of Albanians residing outside Albania from the next elections.

"Many members of the Albanian diaspora today rightly feel neglected by the Albanian state, given that the constant requests to be part of the decision-making have not been taken into account", says the letter addressed to Nikola, adding that "voting from abroad for our compatriots, it was also one of the most important promises during all Diaspora Summits."

They emphasize that failure to keep this promise directly affects the diaspora's relations with the mother country, reducing, according to them, credibility towards the institutions of the Albanian state.

In the letter addressed to the head of parliament, they requested that urgent action be taken so that " the Assembly of Albania fulfills the constitutional obligation to make the necessary legal changes to enable Albanians to vote".
