The Italian Embassy in Albania says that it has paid today the bill for the dinner that four Italian tourists ate in Berat, and left without paying.
In an announcement on social networks, the Italian Embassy says that it has paid the bill, according to the order of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, adding that it hopes that such cases will not be repeated.
The incident became viral, after the restaurant was denounced on social networks, for the non-payment of the bill of 80 euros by the Italian tourists, and very soon it was reflected in the local media, now also the international ones.
"According to the order of the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, we made the payment of the account left unpaid by a group of Italian tourists in a restaurant in the city of Berat. Italians adhere to the rules and pay off their obligations, and we hope that such incidents do not happen again", announces the Italian Embassy in Tirana.
