The US Embassy in Tirana has published today the face of Kremlin propaganda, which is Dmitri Peskov, Putin's spokesman since 2008. According to them, Peskov has played a key role in disinformation and propaganda.

The US Embassy also further adds that Peskov, before the war in Ukraine, made sure that he constantly denied the occupation of its neighbor. Serving Putin has been very profitable for Peskov, who is also a simple civil servant, he and his family are multimillionaires.

'Faces of Kremlin Propaganda | Dmitri Peskov has served as Vladimir Putin's spokesman since 2008. In this capacity, he has played a key role in propaganda and disinformation campaigns to cover up the Kremlin's links to the polonium poisoning of former Russian intelligence officer Alexander Litvinenko in 2006, the Novichok poisoning of former Russian military intelligence officer Sergei Skirpal and his daughter Yulia in 2018, and the Novichok poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny in 2020.

Before Putin launched his unprovoked and brutal war against Ukraine, Peskov repeatedly denied that Russia had any intention of invading its neighbor. He falsely claimed that Russia posed no threat to Ukraine, that Russia had never attacked any other nation, and that Russia would be "the last country in Europe" that would consider starting a war. Serving Putin has been profitable for Peskov, and despite having been a civil servant throughout his career, he and his family are now multimillionaires.

On March 3, the United States imposed sanctions on Peskov. Australia, Canada and the European Union (EU) have also sanctioned Peskov. On March 11, the US Treasury Department also sanctioned three of Peskov's close family members, who live lavish lifestyles that don't match his civil servant salary. According to the Treasury Department, Peskov's family members have a real estate empire worth more than $10 million, a number of luxury vehicles and regularly travel on private jets and yachts.
