Alibeaj says that SP is making "occult bargains" with Berisha's
Deputy Enkelejd Alibeaj

Democratic MP Enkelejd Alibeaj, through a statement to the press today, has reinforced the hints that negotiations are being carried out between the socialist majority and the Reestablishment DP.

Alibeaj described them as "occult bargains" while emphasizing that "now that the papers have been opened, the Socialist Party must show it, it will fail the electoral reform commission, it will make an occult agreement, it will make a unilateral agreement, it will take the matter to the law commission, will she make a one-sided law according to her appetites and tastes?"

Full statement:

Three days ago, I addressed a public appeal to the Socialist Party to clarify a key issue in the interest of the public: are they looking for the failure of the electoral reform?

Are they demanding that the issue of electoral reform escape from the electoral reform commission, where the parties are equal under equal conditions, and then pass to the laws commission, where the Socialist Party has the majority, where with its votes it can undertake any initiative unilaterally, as long as the veto guarantee is removed from the opposition.

Today I take the opportunity to make the same appeal: is the Socialist Party seeking to fail the electoral reform commission?

Are you seeking to take the matter to the Laws Commission, where there is a majority and through fishing for opposition votes, unilateral initiatives can be undertaken where the opposition lacks a guarantee, the only security being the veto against any unilateral initiative.

I know, the public knows in fact that the Socialist Party did not want open lists, that it does not want the vote of the diaspora, the vote of half of the Albanians outside the territory.

I know that the SP does not want Albania to be an electoral district so that the vote of Albanians in the north or in the south is equal.

Because he wants to unfairly get at least 6-7 mandates at the table through this system.

I know that the socialist party does not like electronic voting and counting.

So the question I have once again for the representatives of the socialist party is: why don't they want open lists, why don't they want to give Albanians the right to choose their representatives?

Why do they want to preserve the infamous agreement of 2008 at all costs?

Why don't they want the Albanians outside Albania expelled by this majority not to vote?

Why don't they want the Albanian vote to be equal? Why don't they want the vote of the Albanians to be voted and counted electronically?

The media has said, talked about that occult negotiations or bargains are taking place, so this is a public interest for the Socialist Party to make this known.

In the electoral reform commission, the Democratic Party has its own representatives.

There is the place where all alternatives and all positions are debated.

For so many months, we have taken all our options, all our alternatives, the relevant law, for open lists, for Albania as a region, for the vote of the diaspora, for electronic voting and counting and for a series of other guarantees that the electoral process will have to have.

Therefore, an hour ago when the papers have been opened, the Socialist Party will have to show it, it will fail the electoral reform commission, it will make an occult agreement, it will make a unilateral agreement, it will take the matter to the commission of laws, will make a one-sided law according to her appetites and tastes?

This is what the public is looking for, voters are looking for, Albania is looking for.

Therefore, it is an answer that must be given an hour before.
