"Two seniorities of the transition" This is how Enkeljd Alibeaj considers Prime Minister Edi Rama and Democratic leader Sali Berisha, as he takes stock of the year 2022.

In a post on social networks, Alibeaj writes that Berisha and Rama are supporting each other in the political scene, that they will not be alone for long. He further adds that Rama and Berisha are holding the opposition hostage today, and with it the change that Albanians are waiting for.

According to Alibeaj, these two old political figures seem like strong players because of the bargains, but it is said that they are plagued by the shadow of scandals and the seal of non grata.

2022!

This was a difficult year for the democrats and undoubtedly one of the most difficult of the long transition for the Albanians.
In the conditions of a regime that has taken root in every link of the state, where justice finds it increasingly difficult to be functional and direct, where the opposition is spending most of its time in divisions between itself and personal problems, ordinary citizens they have a really hard time reviving hope for the change we all seek.

To defeat a regime installed from the last link to the top of the state is a difficult mission, but not impossible. To do this, first, we must be true to ourselves, to the facts, to what is happening, and above all to the alternative that can bring about change.

Defeating a well-structured patronage regime requires a strong organization, commitment of party structures. But the support and vote of the undecided electorate, of citizens disappointed by the banality of today's politics, is a necessary condition for the opposition to come to power. And to convince this category, the opposition needs alternatives and uncompromising figures. For politicians not involved in corrupt affairs, away from hate speech, lynching. Because this is the model that Albanians have seen enough with Edi Rama.

Të mundësh një regjim, mbi të gjjtha ka nevojë për moral dhe vërtetësi. Jo nga ato përbetimet e zakonshme të atyre që shahen e kërdisën, e më pas përtypin cdo gjë për hir të karriges. Intrigat, kurthet dhe hilet janë mekanizmat në duart e politikës së vjetër, që përpiqet të mbahet në këmbë me metodat komunistë. Me të njëjtat metoda, Edi Rama dhe Sali Berisha mbajnë sot peng opozitën, e bashkë me të edhe ndryshimin që presin shqiptarët. Dy vjetërsirat e tranzicionit mbajnë njëri-tjetrin në skenën gjysmë të rrëzuar të politikës, me shpresën se pa njërin, as tjetri nuk do e ketë më të gjatë. Lojrat meskine, pazaret dhe marrveshjet, që ndër vite kanë bërë me njëri-tjetrin, i bëjnë të duken lojtarë të fortë, ndonëse të rrënuar nga hija e skandalevë dhe vula e non gratave.

The mud that the regime and its allies produce, the traps that they set and the bullying that they produce are just a part of the efforts to keep the system that they have erected afloat. What makes us strong is the determination to face it morally and truthfully. With strength and courage. Above all, with the dignity and virtue of every democrat who believes that DP is the force created to represent human dignity.
