Mirel Mërtiri spoke today exclusively on Çim Peka LIVE about what is known as the affair of the incinerators.
Speaking first about the Elbasan incinerator, Mërtiri said that his family was the temporary owner of the waste processing plant in Elbasan. After the seventh year, it would pass to the Albanian state.
"I want to ask you a question: how is it possible that in Albanian legislation, the word de facto owner does not exist?
Can you define for me what de facto owner means? To be a de facto owner, there must also be a legal description.
The word owner is well defined in the legislation. Today, I and my family, and my entire social circle, are accused of acts and actions never done by us.
If we take all the plants in turn, I can answer them for each one of them.
We start with Elbasan. My position is very clear and simple, my family is the temporary owner of the waste processing plant in Elbasan.
Society 'Alb Tech is in society, which was supposed to exist in the administration of my family only for 7 years. It is clearly defined in the contract.
At the end of the 7th year, the company and the contract were transferred to the management of the Albanian state, namely the Ministry of Energy and subsequently, the Municipality of Elbasan.
The first is not a tender, the second is not a company owned. Third, the companies that participated in the construction of this plant have several years of experience in the Italian state.
Albtech is a company owned by my family only temporarily. I speak according to the conditions that are defined in the contracts", said Mërtiri.
Next was Belind Kelliçi, who directly asked Mërtir if he knows Engjëll Agaçi, the General Secretary of the prime minister. Mërtiri replied that it is normal to know politicians in Albania, but he preferred not to speak by proper names.
"Living in Albania, you will definitely have relations with Albanian politicians because it is a specific life, because we are people, we are human beings.
Mr. Kelliçi, you are starting the conversation with proper names, which I have no business doing tonight.
I don't use proper names for a reason. It is not correct when there are certain, diverted investigations by SPAK against my family members, it cannot happen.
I am giving you an answer now about Mr. Agaçi, I neither know him, nor have I met him, nor do I know what he does in his life", said Mërtiri.
