The Chairman of the Movement for National Development Party, Dashamir Shehi will not run for the Municipality of Tirana in the next local elections of 2023.

Shehi states that although his name is thrown around a lot every time local elections approach, a new generation is developing in politics that may be more suitable to be a candidate.

According to him, the opposition should not focus on names and numbers, as this is not the right form to rebuild.

"I always express myself when the Municipality of Tirana comes. In Albanian politics, a generation of boys has grown up who can do this job, because this is an executive job, who can do it better than me. I do not give up my political battles. It doesn't matter who it will be, if there is no spirit to push the other side and the opposition will be a sum of numbers, I think that we cannot rise again by counting the numbers", he emphasized in an interview for "Euronews Albania". .
