IRRESPONSIBLE / Centuries-old olive trees light fires to keep warm, police: They
One of the Palacho olive trees that played with fire is now being pursued relentlessly.

FIER/HIMARA/MALLAKASTËR – A chain of ugly events that tarnish the image of hundreds of thousands of honest Albanian trees occurred last week, when a few irresponsible olive trees caused the burning of thousands of others, along with dozens of hectares of green areas with pine trees and various shrubs, which had no fault in this.

From the very beginning, sources from the police of Fier, Himara and Mallakastra, as well as from civil emergencies, indicated that the data left no room for doubt: The simultaneous fires in several points were intentional.

Later footage clearly showed that it was some centuries-old olive trees that, with a frivolity that their age does not allow, lit a fire to burn the dry branches and grass beneath them, and in this way warmed their bones, tired from the years.

"We still don't know if the act was intentional, and if those trees knew that a crazy wind would blow in those two days that would spread the flames throughout Myzeqenë, Mallakastra, the Vlorë River and Himara. But in any case, along with the dry ones, the young ones were also burned, young and innocent trees that had oil... that is, life ahead," the police statement said, "and this is because of some crazy trees, all gnarled, crooked and ugly to God. But we will not allow a few crooked trees to ruin the entire stack... or rather, what is left of the stack."

According to the police, it has been decided to specifically target the olive trees Vaj Halli, 244 years old, Vaj Medet, 311 years old, Ekstra Virgjine, 98 years and 5 months old, and several other younger trees that committed suicide and did not report the crime.

The problematic situation became even more serious, because the irresponsible action also led to the burning of several stables, warehouses, livestock, and in the case of Himara, even houses, which the even more foolish owners had built near trees.

The state of affairs has also brought a reaction from the business world, especially from beneficiaries of the Mountain Packages, Hill Packages, Field Boxes, as well as tactical-strategic investors on the coast.

"I can't comprehend it, we're in the 21st century and there are still trees that play with fire," said investor Këllëç Koburja, who is known by a different name in every country in Europe and had learned the word 'perceive' with a flaw two days ago, "I'm going to build three hotels in the burned area of Himara. How can I build now, amidst the burning? I call on the government to put a stop to these rampaging olive trees!"

Businessman Zaçe Kopacja, who benefits from several Mountain Package projects in the Fier Alps area, was also concerned.

"Enough with the talk. I say that trees that start fires should be cut down from the roots. These half-hearted tree chases don't work. They sprout leaves again and history begins all over again. Is this how we will end up in Europe?" declared Kopacja.

The prime minister of the unburned part of the country was also particularly concerned. From the very first moments of the crisis, he made firefighting forces, the army, ambulances, helicopters, and three naval combat boats available to businessmen, investors, entrepreneurs, and contractors.

Meanwhile, he invited all citizens to report problematic trees on the government website "Sehir-Surrat Albania", where the entire database of olive trees, pine trees, fir trees, oak trees and beeches with unclean tree certificates, which put their spokes in the wheels of the development projects of the Albania 2330 program, will be reflected like a mirror.
