Aleksandar Vučić's defeat in the parliamentary elections does not seem to change Belgrade's perspective on Kosovo much: In fact, the Student List, which emerged from student protests against corruption in Serbia, has maintained an oppositional stance towards its independence.

During the election campaign, representatives of this list emphasized that Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia, in accordance with the Serbian Constitution.

The movement has called for a review of the agreements reached in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, the return of the Kosovo status issue to the United Nations, and consultation with Kosovo Serbs on decisions related to them. It has also called for the signed agreements to be reviewed by the parliament and the Constitutional Court of Serbia, leaving open the possibility of their revision.

In the Memorandum on Kosovo, the Student List has described it as an inalienable part of Serbia and emphasized that the solution to the issue should be sought through cooperation with international organizations, but within the framework of the Serbian Constitution.

There has been much criticism of Vucic's government related to developments in Kosovo, including the removal of license plates and the Serbian dinar, as well as the closure of institutions that operated under the Serbian system.

However, analysts do not expect the change of power in Belgrade to bring a rapid change in the attitude towards Kosovo's independence; on the contrary, they underline that opposition to Kosovo's independence remains part of Serbian state policy and is supported by a large part of public opinion in Serbia.

They say, however, that it remains to be seen whether, after a possible coming to power, these statements will be transformed into concrete policies and how they will affect the dialogue with Pristina.
