Sadleva Bodo is expected to be the new Director General of Prisons, replacing Adriatik Kupin, who announced his resignation after only seven months in office.
Bodo comes from the National Bureau of Investigation, where she has held the position of legal advisor to the director of this institution for five years. She initially worked with Aida Hajnaj and later continued to exercise the same duty under the direction of Joni Keta.
But before her career in special justice structures, Sadleva Bodo held an important position in the Ministry of Interior, during the period when this institution was also led by Fatmir Xhafaj.
According to the biography published on the official SPAK website, from May 2018 to August 2021, Bodo was the director of the Directorate of European Integration, Coordination, International Agreements and Assistance at the Ministry of Interior.
In the first five months of this period, the Minister of Interior was Fatmir Xhafaj, one of the main political figures associated with the drafting and approval of the justice reform.

After leaving the Ministry of Interior in August 2021, Bodo moved to the National Bureau of Investigation, where he has remained until now.
Meanwhile, according to VNA information, three days before her name was announced as Adriatik Kupi's successor, Sadleva Bodo met privately with Prime Minister Edi Rama at the Prime Minister's Office.
The meeting is said to have taken place on October 9, but there has been no public announcement about the content of the conversation or the issues discussed.
Her selection marks the transition of a lawyer from the BKH leadership cabinet to the administration of the penitentiary system, one of the most sensitive sectors of the Ministry of Justice.
Born on January 29, 1988, Bodo graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana in 2010. She then pursued postgraduate studies at Wayne State University in Detroit, USA, and at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

Since December 2022, according to her official CV, she has also been a member of the National Conflict Resolution Chamber at the Albanian Football Federation.
Sadleva Bodo is expected to officially take office on Wednesday, October 14, taking over as head of the General Directorate of Prisons following the resignation of Adriatik Kupi./ VNA
