The family of citizen Erkan Nika, who worked as a second engineer on a Turkish ship attacked by drones, appeals to the Albanian state to be involved in the search to find the 28-year-old.
His father, Rexh Nika, during an interview with Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha, calls for help from Turkey.
"We call on all hospitals, all health institutions, police, relevant authorities and institutions in Russia, Georgia and around the Black Sea to check their records for unidentified patients, injured persons, or individuals found in the coastal areas of the Black Sea. We request assistance from the state institutions of Albania," said Nika.
The Nika family has lived in Turkey since 1997 and Erkani worked for years on the cargo ship Aroyat, which was attacked in the Black Sea near the port of Novorossiysk. His father says the ship left from the port of Durres and that there were 16 members on board. But only Erkani is missing.
"The last message I had with my son was on Wednesday, September 23. At dinner before I went to bed, I sent him a message, a prayer. He replied the next day at 08:39. 'We are in the Black Sea,' he told me," adds Erkan's father.
The drone attack occurred on September 27th and it turns out that the crews only rescued 15 members, while engineer Nika is not on this list.
