The 67th edition of Eurovision, held next year, will take place in the city of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. The latter has won the close race with Glasgow.

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place at the Liverpool Arena on Saturday 13 May 2023 while the semi-finals will be held on Tuesday 9 May and Thursday 11 May.

Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor Martin Osterdahl said after the announcement: “Liverpool is the ideal place to host the 67th Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine. The city is synonymous with music and the Liverpool Arena exceeds all the requirements necessary to host a global event of this scale.”

Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra won this year's competition, but organizers decided to hold it in another location because of the war. Singer Sam Ryder representing the United Kingdom came second and the BBC offered to host the competition.

The Kalush Orchestra said: "We are very pleased that Eurovision will take place in Liverpool. Although we haven't had the privilege of visiting yet, the city's musical heritage is known around the world. Playing in the same venue where The Beatles started will be a moment we will never forget!”
