Scientists have discovered a mysterious creature with 24 eyes in a reservoir in Hong-Kong. The discovery was made while the water of the Mai Po Reservoir was being analyzed.
The creature with a transparent body and a size of about 2.5 centimeters with three tentacles, is part of the jellyfish family. She has 24 eyes placed in 4 groups of 6 on her small body. This is the first discovery of a jellyfish species in Chinese waters and the fourth species in the family Tripedaliidae, which includes some of the most venomous marine creatures in tropical waters.
This jellyfish releases toxin from its tentacles, which can cause paralysis, heart attack, or even death, just minutes after being stung.
The Australian jellyfish is considered the most poisonous marine creature in the world.
