South African model and actress Charlbi Dean passed away on Monday at the age of 32. It is reported that Charlie Dean died of a 'sudden illness' in a New York hospital.
The 32-year-old died just weeks before the release of the comedy Triangle of Sadness, which would make her a star.
Four months ago she got engaged to her boyfriend of four years, Luke Chase Volker, on the same Manhattan street where they shared their first kiss.
Charlbi owned homes in the Hollywood Hills, New York City and her hometown of Cape Town, where she and the 26-year-old South African model lived with their Kanicki Deathbat dog Dean.
The actress is known for her roles in 2018's Black Lightning, An Interview with God, or Donovan Marsh's 2010 film Spud and its 2013 sequel.
Her latest role was portraying model Yaya opposite Woody Harrelson in Ruben Östlund's satirical shipwreck comedy Triangle of Sadness, which opens in US cinemas on October 7 and UK cinemas on October 28.
