“The Devil Wears Prada 2” leads the box office. On Wednesday, April 29, ticket sales in Italy reached 3,486,795 euros, marking a 244% increase compared to the same day in 2025 and a 128% increase compared to the week before, La Repubblica reports.
Eagerly awaited by millions of fans, with embarrassing reviews until the last minute, Miranda and company received an impressive debut: 2,707,615 euros, with an average of 4,801 euros distributed in 564 cinemas.
The first part, released on October 13, debuted with 488,938 euros, for an opening weekend of 2,879,116 euros and a final total of 14,313,005 euros.
The new film's opening suggests it could surpass that milestone, thanks in part to the enthusiasm of the May Day holiday. With the result, the Meryl Streep-starring film has achieved the best opening day of 2026, surpassing Super Mario Galaxy (€1,281,108).
Its opening also comes close to that of Inside Out 2, which was released in June 2024 with €3,011,118, and surpasses Barbie's debut (€2,160,957).
Also on the podium are Michael and Lee Cronin's film "The Mummy."
Behind him, in second place, Michael holds strong numbers. On Wednesday, April 29, the film earned 582,408 euros (-47% compared to last week's opening), averaging 1,224 euros on 476 screens (up from 484 seven days earlier), bringing the total to 8,741,317 euros as of April 22.
From third place onwards, box office revenues drop. Lee Cronin's "The Mummy" earned 22,987 euros (-68%) and averaged 134 euros on 171 screens (down from 312 last week).
The total thus increases to 1,476,463 euros as of April 16, confirming the positive performance of this horror reimagining of the classic.
