The most expensive license plate in the world has been sold for 12 million

The most expensive license plate in the world has been sold for 12 million pounds. The buyer spent a staggering amount for just one number, namely number 7 at an auction in Dubai.

The person who bought it was from Britain as there are many drivers from this country who want a personalized license plate. The Targa 7 was sold at a charity auction in Dubai for a record 55 million dirhams, which is around £5 million more than the previous record held since 2008.

However, the identity of Saturday's winning bidder has been kept anonymous. The number 7 is considered lucky in many cultures around the world, and this isn't the first time a driver has spent a fortune on a license plate with that number. In 2016, a license plate number 7 was sold for £2.96 million in the United Arab Emirates.
