Colombian singer-songwriter Carlos Vives has confirmed that Shakira is going through a difficult period after her separation from Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique.

Vives, who released the song 'La Bicicleta' in collaboration with the artist in 2016, admitted that Shakira has not been very good lately.

"She is very sad," Vives said as she attended a gala celebrating the 30th anniversary of Cadena 100.

"She is going through a very difficult time," he added.

Vives said only good words to say about Piquen and avoided discussing the betrayal rumors surrounding the player, wishing the best for both parties.

Pique was spotted in London in front of Wimbledon, where some reports say he broke the phone of a press photo after the latter tried to take pictures of the Barcelona star.
