Every day we hear a lot about food and what is the perfect diet, but the secret lies in the permanent integration of small changes in our daily life, even during holidays.
Do not fast all day to eat the evening meal, as this will lead to overeating. Eat a light snack (eg a salad) before the festive dinner.
Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. Know that: 1 glass of champagne - 170 calories / 1 glass of gin and tonic - 165 calories / 1 glass of wine - 90 calories and if it is sweet 150 calories
At the festive table, fill your plate once, accompany it with a salad and consume it without haste. Choose whole grain bread and avoid extra butter, mayonnaise or other sauces.
Beware of dishes that are considered "light". "Light" dishes during the holidays can be a little lighter. It does not mean that you can consume them without moderation. Chew your food slowly and eat small, frequent meals (3-6) to keep you feeling full throughout the day.
And as for dessert, ask yourself if you really need it and if so then consume it in moderation.
Keep a food diary recording what you eat, how much you eat, when you eat it and why you eat it, and if one day is overdone, you can be more careful the next day.
Walk around the neighborhood, dance around the house, just move!
Perhaps you drank a little too much during the festive season, which can cause intoxication, a symptom of a toxic attack on the liver.
The liver is the organ that "cleans" (filters) alcohol and depending on your height, weight, gender, age and body type, what you drink, how much you drink and together with what you eat can increase your chance of got drunk
Everyone is different and their bodies work differently, but remember that most people usually can't handle more than one drink – 1 glass (120ml) of wine (red or white) or 1 glass (240ml ) beer or 1 glass (60 ml) of alcoholic beverage, per hour. The more body fat you have, the harder it is for your body to process alcohol.
5 tips to avoid such a situation:
1. Eat. The more you eat, the more you dissolve the symptoms from the alcohol. But be careful because excessive consumption of food can lead to overconsumption of alcohol and consequently to an increase in body weight.
2. Drink water while drinking alcohol! Drink a glass of water with every drink.
3. Drink after drinking! Water again! Alcohol dehydrates the body making you feel sick the next morning. Drink plenty of water before going to bed.
4. Know which drink is on your mind. Some people are quite sensitive to certain types of alcohol such as red wine. Good options are light beer (light because it has less alcohol) and sparkling wine. Avoid drinks that contain a combination of alcohol and fruit juice or other common soft drinks because they are high in sugar and calories (eg margaritas and daiquiris).
5. Think before you sleep. Do not take pain relievers before bed. If needed, take when you wake up. Before going to bed, eat a light snack, such as bread with a little honey, drink a glass or two of water, and then go to sleep. The next morning, drink strong coffee, take a pain reliever and avoid alcohol for the rest of the day, thus "resting" your body.
