Google replaces employees with AI. Who remains the most vulnerable sector?

Google is considering replacing some of its human staff with artificial intelligence. According to a report from The Information, the company is looking to re-evaluate, or fire, several members of the sales team whose jobs were recently automated by the company's new AI tools.

Earlier this year Google launched 'a new era of AI-powered advertising' as a way to improve advertiser experiences with the company, including the creation of AI-designed assets from clients for advertising campaigns designed specifically for the advertiser.

Google reportedly has 30,000 employees working in its advertising division, with almost half of those involved in selling ads for Google's separate ad services, which are no longer needed thanks to advertiser adoption of AI. Replacing workers with artificial intelligence could boost Google's bottom line in the long run.

Advertising jobs aren't the only positions susceptible to being replaced by artificial intelligence. As AI becomes more advanced, some positions traditionally held by human employees are potentially at risk of being replaced by AI.

A report from Hostinger earlier this year revealed that AI has the potential to replace some jobs in healthcare transportation and financial services, among others. It found globally that healthcare, especially things like hospital administrative duties, would be some of the first positions to be replaced. That said, the development of AI has also created some new positions that didn't exist before.
