Vermont in the US, known as the ideal place for autumn escapes, has closed its roads to the public for this season for about 15 days. It also blocks access to the popular Sleepy Hollow Farm, a private home that many tourists try to visit.
Sleepy Hollow Farm has been a popular destination for bloggers looking for the perfect shot of an autumn landscape of fallen, yellow leaves. Videos using the hashtag #sleepyhollowfarm have been viewed over 800,000 times on TikTok. Meanwhile, thousands of photos of the farm have been posted on Instagram.
Searching for idyllic fall photos has created headaches for Pomfret residents. In fact, some have created a GoFundMe campaign titled "Save Cloudl and Road" to raise money for road closures and traffic hours during the fall season.
The money raised will go towards paying for extra security staff in the chief constable's office and more new signage and signage. However, most of the city's residents emphasize that they are not against tourism. They just want visitors to show respect for the country.
"In recent years, Cloudl and Road (where bloggers gather for their photos) and the small roads that lead to it, have experienced an unprecedented increase in tourist traffic fueled by Instagram and TikTok, which are monetizing the photos. ,” the GoFundMe page description reads.
The campaign, which has raised nearly $15,000, also claims that bloggers who visited the city "damaged roads, had accidents, trampled gardens, damaged residents' property, parked in fields and sidewalks and verbally assaulted local residents."
Few businesses operate in the area and it is generally a quiet area.
