A NASA satellite has captured an image of the Sun that appears to be smiling.
"Today, NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory caught the sun 'smiling,'" the US space agency tweeted.
The holes in the Sun's surface that create the smiling face are coronal holes, and are places where the solar wind moves rapidly through space, NASA explained.
NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory is a mission that has been observing the Sun since 2010, observing solar activity and data such as the magnetic field and energy production.
