While Russia has declared that it has developed a vaccine that treats all types of cancer, doctor Aurora Dollenberg shared on Dita Jonë on A2 CNN the news that the most promising so far is the pancreas vaccine, which extends the patient's life by up to 10 years.
"So far, it is promising for pancreatic cancer. When we say this cancer, we know that the patient's days are numbered. It is the deadliest diagnosis we have when it comes to the patient's lifespan, as the lifespan is only 6 months. These patients have been volunteers, they became part of this vaccine, and it has been seen that when they have a genetic mutation, we, through the vaccine, manage to correct the cancer cell, making it accessible to the immune police system that our body has. The moment we give this vaccine, we make the cancer cell visible for detection by the body, and we have seen that with pancreatic cancer here in Germany, we have increased the life expectancy of patients by several years and up to 1 decade, giving the patient the opportunity for a better prognosis."
Dollenberg emphasizes that not all patients are beneficiaries of this vaccine.
"It's about some vaccines that increase lifespan and don't bring it back, and there's a lot of hope and optimism here that in the future we'll be able to make a genetic map of the patient. The main criterion is that they be in very good physical condition. Not all patients can benefit, but those who received it saw that the cancer didn't return."
According to her, there have also been improvements for several other types of cancer, such as lung and colon cancer, while two preventive vaccines also exist in medicine.
"Colon cancer has also seen significant improvement, as has lung cancer. There are some diagnoses that are very promising. This vaccine that Russia mentioned is about treating cancer, since the vaccine for prevention we have is the human papillomavirus vaccine that prevents cervical and colon cancer and anal cancer, and the hepatitis B vaccine that prevents liver cancer."
While staying in Russia, the doctor emphasized that from a medical perspective, it is impossible to develop a vaccine for all types.
"The vaccine for cancer is of great interest. This is not the first time that Russia has made such statements and it was not made by a doctor, but by a state representative. We know that in combination with chemotherapy and radiotherapy there is also a vaccine that is used in some university clinics, but they are in the experimental phase. Even for us doctors it seems a miracle that it is not yet a scientific reality. We have a high variety of cancers and it must be determined what type of cancer this vaccine is for because from a medical point of view it is impossible to develop a vaccine for all types of cancer, for example, liver and lung cancer have different genetic profiles and within one patient there could be two different types of vaccines. We have well-known results for some types of cancer such as skin cancer, combined with immunotherapy. Such therapies with personalized vaccines are very expensive therapies, it is impossible. in European laboratories".
