As Atlantis, a continent so rumored for decades, is believed to have been "swallowed" by the ocean, another lost continent has been discovered.
It's about Argoland, a 155-million-year-old continent that once had almost the same area as the United States. So far, only a few 'pieces' of it have been discovered in the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia.

According to geologists, finding Argoland was quite challenging.
Argoland is believed to have broken away from Australia during the late period of human history and over the millennia the continent drifted towards Southeast Asia eventually disappearing.
For a long time, researchers have been almost certain about the existence of this continent, but finding a piece of land became a very difficult mission. But finally, rocky fragments of lost land were spotted on the ocean floor and also scattered on several small islands.
Researchers say the continent once consisted of green jungles like those of Indonesia. They add that the continent was destroyed by breaking up and sinking into the sea.

Other lost continents underwent similar processes, including Zealandia, a sunken mass near Australia that was once located in the Mediterranean Sea.
How these continents disappeared is vital to understanding the process of evolution, biodiversity or mountain formation.
