Downing Street's cat, Larry, who has received and escorted three British prime ministers, is ready to welcome the new prime minister, Liz Truss.

The British media devote articles to the 15-year-old cat who has been in Downing Street since 2011.

She was even quoted in Johnson's farewell speech: “If Dylan (the dog) and Larry (the cat) can overcome adversity, so can the Conservative Party. Thank you to the British voters for giving me the chance to serve them."

Larry has met some of the most famous world leaders, where he was mostly unfriendly to men, with the only exception being former American President Obama.

The cat, who was once a stray, was recruited as a "handler" by Prime Minister David Cameron on February 15, 2011, to manage a pack of mice that appeared near the Prime Minister's residence.

Since then, she has become one of the longest-serving residents of the head of government's residence.
