Zhaklin Lekatari, BBV columnist, activist and at the same time one of the most rebellious voices of the Albanian media, who has dared to speak openly about what is still seen as a taboo for the mentality of Albanian society, sex education, has stopped today in "S e luan Topi" for a story about her private life as well.

During the conversation in the studio, Lekatari surprised when he said that he had not had a partner by his side for 10 years, although this did not mean an interruption of any relationship with a man. Direct, as it is in her nature, Lekatari clarifies that it is about 10 years without a partnership, but not without sexual relations.

Excerpts from the conversation:

Zhaklina: I haven't been in a relationship for a long time and I don't know how I'll be in a relationship anymore because I've changed in the last years, the last decade. I'm not the same anymore. 30-year-old Zhaklina is no longer the same as 20-year-old Zhaklina or 40-year-old Zhaklina.

You say you haven't been in a relationship for 10 years.

Zhaklina: Yes, I haven't been in a relationship, without a partner, without saying "this is my boyfriend" for 10 years. Of course I've dated, I've gone out, I've had my outings, but without being tied down in a solid relationship. Without being partnered with a man or a boy.

Since you are direct, I am also becoming a "Zhaklina" at these moments. Now, 10 years without a relationship or even sex?

Zhaklina: Yes, no, Erjona, 10 years without sexual intercourse, no.

 … I'm asking.

Zhaklina: I'm saying without having a partnership, not without having sexual relations. To have sexual relations it is not necessary to be connected to the other. You can go on dates, you can go out 3-4-5 times, it can last a few months, but a few months for me is not a relationship for the way I perceive a relationship.

I do not call a relationship or a relationship a meeting, or several meetings that I do with a guy. That for me is a process of getting to know each other, that is, I am getting to know a boy. From acquaintance to connection and then to other things in my opinion takes time. At least for me at this age.

So sexual relations, without love...

Zhaklina: It is not said that I don't have love for the other person. I can have emotion, I can have taste, I can have affection, I can have many other things.
