Julia Roberts has revealed why she has not starred in a romantic movie in the last two decades.
The Oscar-winning actress admitted that the move was a conscious decision on her part, simply because she did not find anything "good enough".
In an interview with the New York Times Magazine, Roberts said that "people sometimes misinterpret the amount of time that has passed since I did not make a romantic film as my wish to no longer act in that genre."

"If I had read something I thought was the level of writing 'Notting Hill' or 'My Best friend's Wedding' I would have done it," she explained. "Movies like the good ones didn't exist until I did (Ticket to Paradise) that Ol Parker wrote and directed."
"So, if it was a good film project, I would participate. But I have also had three children in the last 18 years. This raises the criteria even more, because then it is not just "Is this material good?" It is also the adjustment of schedules and the time I want to spend with my kids. It's not just, "Oh, I think I want to do this." "I have a great sense of pride that I am at home with my family and I consider myself a housewife", the actress concluded.

Julia became famous in the '90s and 2000s with her roles in the films: Pretty Woman, My Best Friend's Wedding, Notting Hill, Ranaway Bride and America's Sweethearts.
