Ex-Twitter CEO Deletes Instagram Account He Started 12 Years Ago, Says Why
Jack Dorsey

Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey says he has deleted the Instagram account he opened 12 years ago.

Dorsey, in a post on Twitter (X), writes that his account @jack was among the first 10 accounts of the social network and that he was also among the first investors.

He asks who Instagram will give the name "@jack" to now, since accounts with proper names are sold on the black market for thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Dorsey has said that he has stopped using Instagram since it was bought by Facebook, he further adds that he does not use any social network of "META" neither Facebook nor WhatsApp.

While he doesn't give clear reasons, when asked by followers, he hints at problems Mark Zuckerberg's companies have faced in recent years, such as user privacy abuses.

The approval of Elon Musk did not hesitate either, who responded with the fire symbol implying support for Dorsey's action.
